ALL FORMS MUST BE PROCESSED AND A LICENSE ISSUED
PRIOR TO SELLING BEER
All delinquent real estate taxes must be paid in full before a license is issued.
New Applicants: 3.2% Beer License Application and forms are available below. Thoroughly complete all required documents and submit them with the appropriate Fee(s)

- $50.00 On & Off Sale
Payment in the form of Cash (at the counter), Check or Money Order must accompany the application packet. Make checks payable to the Aitkin County Auditor.
Upon receipt of all completed documents, the Auditor's Office will submit the application to the County Board of Commissioners for approval. Please allow ample time.
Applicant Information Application - Please complete all information.
- Licensee Name
- Sole Proprietor is person's name
- Partnership, or Corporation, it should be that person or company name or doing business as (dba)
- Business Address: Address location of business.
- Signature of applicant:
- Sole Proprietor is the owner's signature
- Partnership or Corporation is president's signature
**The Auditor's Office will assist with the signatures of the County Sheriff and County Attorney.
$20 Buyers Card Application is required for On Sale Intoxicating Liquor Applicants.
- Complete the bottom 3 Lines of this application.
- Checks need to be made payable to: DPS ALCOHOL & GAMBLING ENFORCEMENT.
- Contact the Town Clerk immediately to be placed on their agenda; Town Board approval is required prior to returning to the Auditor's Office.
Workers’ Compensation Certificate of Compliance
- Complete all lines required.
- List Applicant's Name and Business Name as on Application. If you have coverage, complete all information that is requested.
- Signature and date.
- Complete Affidavit as to Sales if sales are less than $25,000 per year for ON Sale and/or $50,000 for OFF Sales.
- This document MUST be notarized.
Strong Beer:
REQUEST TO SELL INTOXICATING MALT LIQUOR (Strong Beer) IN CONJUNCTION WITH ON SALE 3.2% BEER LICENSE AND ON SALE WINE LICENSE.
- Complete Application if requesting to sell Intoxicating Malt Liquor (Strong Beer) in conjunction with Wine License.
- Must have Liquor Liability Insurance.
- The name on the insurance certificate MUST match exactly with the Applicant Name on the application.
- The address of the location must be in the Description area of the form.
- Coverage term: coverage dates must appear on the certificate with one of the following:
- Dates that coincide exactly to the license period.
- Current policy term dates with additional wording in the Description Area: Wording MUST state, “Liquor Liability coverage is continuous until canceled.”
