The Human Resources Department is responsible for coordinating and processing all personnel transactions within the county.

To apply for a posted position with Aitkin County, you must fill out an application; resumes will not be accepted in lieu of an application. Completed applications must be received by the Aitkin County Human Resources Department by 4:30 p.m. on the closing date.  No late applications will be considered.

Additionally, applications are only accepted for open jobs. When there are no positions open, Aitkin County will not accept and hold applications on file for future positions.

Office Assistant V - Environmental Services/Planning & Zoning

Aitkin County is accepting applications for a full-time Office Assistant V to work in the Zoning and Environmental Services Department. Requires Associate’s degree or equivalent from a twoyear college or technical school in an Administrative Assistant, Business, or Accounting program; plus three or more years related office experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. This is a busy front office position, must have the ability to focus and work productively with continual interruptions. Will serve as secretary to the Board of Adjustment and/or Planning Commission. Must have typing skills sufficient to complete 55 net words per minute without errors. Application for Office Assistant V

Seasonal (67 day) Park Laborers

Aitkin County is accepting applications for Seasonal (67 day) Park Laborers to perform maintenance and groundskeeping duties at county park facilities and tax-forfeited properties. Must be 18 years or older, have a high school diploma or GED, and be available for work as scheduled. $10.83/hour. Preference will be given to candidates who have groundskeeping, facility maintenance, and carpentry experience. Valid MN driver’s license required. Part Time Custodians

Aitkin County is accepting part-time Custodian aps. Will provide building custodial and grounds keeping services approx 2-3 days per week. Experience preferred. $11.82 per hour. Substitue (Call-In) Custodians

Aitkin County is accepting applications for Substitute (Call-in) Custodians ($11.82/hour) to work up to 67 days per calendar year. Provide building custodial and grounds keeping services. Currently late afternoon/evening shift.  Requires  H.S.
