Sealed Bid Regular Timber Auction

This is to notify that the Aitkin County Land
Department (ACLD) will be holding a sealed bid regular timber auction on
August 25th, 2010 at 10:00 AM. ACLD will sell to the highest bidder,
regardless of the number of employees, timber as indicated on the
described parcels of land that have forfeited to the State for the
nonpayment of taxes. The sale information on the parcels of timber
follows. The following conditions will apply on this auction:
1.
Timber will be sold to the highest bidder for not less than the
total appraised tract value. A percent bid must be indicated for
the total appraised tract value. This percent will be applied to each
bid species. Percent bid can be in a tenth of a percent (ex: 43.5%).

Cutting shall be in conformity with the forestry practices as
outlined in the timber permit / appraisal. Bidders are responsible for
getting maps, cutting regulations, contract information, and special
regulations at the Aitkin County Land Department. Access to the permit
areas shall be the responsibility of the successful bidder. Bidder also
agrees to the attached cutting regulations. Contact the Land Department
about the possibility of assistance on access road development on
individual tracts. Sale information is also available on the website:

All bid forms must be received in the Aitkin County Land

FOR THIS YEAR –
A $500.00 bid bond check payable to the Aitkin County Land
Department must be included in the envelope with the bid form. One bid
bond will cover all of the tract bids and will be returned if no bids
are awarded. The $500.00 bid bond will be retained until receipt of the
required downpayment for the tracts awarded. Failure to make the
required downpayment on time, may result in the forfeiture of the
$500.00 bid bond.
5.
Should the successful bidder not submit the balance of the down
payment on time, the sale may be awarded the next highest bidder. In the
case of a tie bid, the successful bidder will be decided by a game of
chance.
6.
Submission of a bid indicates that a logger has inspected the
sale and is knowledgeable of all sale regulations.
7.
Permit will only be issued in the name
identified as the successful bidder.
8.
Payment of the full price of the sale plus a
performance bond or payment equaling 10% of the total bid price, must be
made prior to cutting. Payment of the full price of the sale plus

having a delinquent or uncollectible timber sale account with any county
or state or from a bidder involved with a pending timber trespass with
