Reporting to Jail:
The court will assign you a date and time to report to jail. We can
only take you on the date and time assigned by court, you may not report
earlier. Reporting late or not reporting will result in further sanctions
by the court. If you drive yourself in, park your car in the county
parking lot on the south side of 1st St NW near the silver garage.
On your report day, bring as little personal property as you can, most
personal property will not be allowed in the jail. You and any property
are subject to search at any time while you are in the jail. The jail
is not responsible for any property lost while you are staying in the
jail. All property left at the jail 30 days after a release or transfer
to another facility will be treated as donated to the jail or destroyed.
Things you may bring:
- Prescription medications in their original bottle with the pharmacy
script on the bottle.
- Any other medical device required by a documented medical condition.
Call ahead to notify the jail.
- Medical insurance card.
- Reading, prescription glasses, contact lens maintenance products
and extra lenses.
- A watch.
- Extra clothing if you expect to go out on the STS crew or work
release.
- Money for purchasing toiletries and other commissary items.
- Wedding ring.
Information to give to friends and family:
The jail does not accept phone calls for offenders. The jail does
have a telephone system for making collect calls or calls by calling
card. Cards are available for purchase in $10 increments.
There is a messaging line for offenders at 218-927-2513. Use of this
system requires creating a pin account after arrival in the jail. We
encourage using the first 3 or 4 letters of your last name.

Sentenced to Serve and Work Release Offenders:
STS and Work Release are a jail privilege. You will be held inside
the jail for a minimum of 3 days to observe your behavior. All fees
must be paid in advance to work on the STS crew or go out on Work Release.
Pay to Stay:
The jail charges $20.00 a day to stay in the jail. A bill will be
provided to you within a week of your outdate. The bill will explain
methods of payment. Work Release offenders may have to pay their bills
in advance.
